Hey Gr8tful,
I've been having troubles getting onto your server. Been almost two weeks or so i think. Keeps timing me out. I think i might be having minecraft withdrawals.

I'm pretty sure you have more then 6 regulars.

At least your game is working! haha
 
I finally got situated at 10:00pm to sit down and record but I got a nice error that it can't create my region. Their servers are getting HAMMERED right now... it's pretty much Diablo 3 all over again. Anyone lucky to get in and play usually ends up with a corrupt city when they switch to another city in the region.

I'm hoping I'll have better luck tomorrow - in the meantime I'm gonna brush up on the guide!
 
Also: Anyone interested in a multiplayer region let me know! I'm looking for 6 more people (preferably regulars on this forum... do I even have 6 regulars?? lol) so we can each have 2 cities in a 16 city region. I'll be doing a separate multiplayer series from the current single player one.

I've already uploaded a couple of videos of the closed beta but starting Tuesday I'm planning to play some serious SimCity! Hopefully I'll be able to start recording on Tuesday night (if their servers don't get hammered) and have the first video ready to go for Wednesday - if I have time to edit it Tuesday night it'll be up Wednesday morning.
 
I'm not sure how I'll be setting up the series... I might do a single player series and then a multiplayer series along side of it when/if I get a few people together that want to play in a region.

I know it's a little bit of short notice, but I still have the old map if anyone is interested in downloading it.  Let me know if there's any issue downloading the save file.
 
Also, the server no longer has the essentials commands available and the OP list has been cleared. There is also a special surprise awaiting everyone!

Absolutely zero problems logging into my FTB server now guys! We're using all latest versions of the Direwolf20 pack with no additions. Load it up and log in! Why the Direwolf20 pack? Simple... it doesn't contain GregTech.

The main reason I think we are moving away from Tekkit is the fact that they never had proper permissions from the mod authors to use their mods in the pack. FTB has full support of the mod authors and as Jasenty pointed out, FTB seems to consistently update. FTB has several different packs to choose from, including the "Magic" pack which contains Equivalent Exchange as well as other magic type mods; i.e Twilight Forest, Mystcraft, Thaumcraft, etc.

I really don't blame ya Stylez, this is ridiculous.

Yep! I'm considering just ditching the server until Minecraft and the mods stabilize... it's not worth the $30 a month to just sit there "waiting for the stars to align."
 
EDIT: I've requested cancellation at the end of the current billing cycle. I'll re-evaluate when RP2 comes out and FTB is updated and stabilized to the point they're not removing mods from the pack and corrupting worlds. Also hoping to see more Bukkit-like mods ported to Forge. I'm also working on projects in Second Life and don't have time to devote to a finnicky SMP server right now.

Yeah I've seen it in vanilla it just seems a bit more common with EBXL.... maybe I'm just looking for something to bitch about. lol

What do you guys think of this plot management mod for the FTB server? I haven't read it very much because I'm at work but judging by the screenshots it looks pretty cool and it's Forge.

No one is questioning the hours of work she's putting into updating the mod. I just wish she'd release alpha builds so that I can playtest the balance for my LP and get my configs done. I can relate to what she's doing though... I also hate putting out half-assed things that aren't quite finished and buggy (this is why we don't have a preliminary FTB server setup).
